Apple is set to launch its third generation iPad Air tablet in a mid-March event and the new iPad Air 3 is rumored to be very close to design to its predecessor. But the Air 3 will have features not available on iPad Air 2.
iPad Air 3’s rumored design is measure 240 x 169.6 x 6.15mm and it is very close to the design of iPad Air 2 that measures 240 x 169.5 x 6.1mm.
iPad Air 3 is rumored to display size of its predecessors but with higher resolution – 3112 x 2334. If the rumor proves to be true then the iPad Air 3 promises crystal clear picture quality with 401ppi. On the contrary, iPad Air 2 has resolution of 2048 x 1536 and a pixel density of 264ppi.
iPad Air 2 comes with an 8-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front facing camera but Air 3 is rumored to have an upgrade in rear and front cameras. Presence of LED flash for rear camera is an evidence of a powerful rear facing camera.
Hardware & Software
iPad Air 2 packs A8X chip but the third generation of iPad Air tablet is rumored to have a faster processor probably A9 or A9X or Apple could pack the iPad Air 3 with an entirely new chip “A10”. On the RAM side, iPad Air 2 comes with 2 GB RAM but the Air 3 tablet will certainly get a boost with 3 GB of RAM. iPad Air 3 will certainly get iOS 9.3 upgradable to iOS 10 expected to be launched around June.
